I'm very impressed with this app! I was kind of sketchy of it at first, but after my boyfriend and I did some research on the company running the app, it turns out that they are doing amazing things to help out animals, and I trust them. What I like most about this app is that it's easy to use, and you don't have to research anything. You use a scanner to scan the barcodes of a product and the app will immediately tell you if the product you scanned is cruelty-free or not. You can use the scanner to scan a product in the store, or point the scanner at a barcode on a device when searching online. If a product is not cruelty-free, you have the option to "bite back" by sharing the result with social media. Unfortunately, that option doesn't work on my phone, but everything else does. Cruelty-Cutter is the reason why I stopped using Dove and some other common brands. They lie about being Cruelty-Free, and you have to watch for the fake cruelty-free signs. The app definitely helps with that. I've already switched to a few Cruelty-Free products, thanks to this app, and I'll continue to do my part to help save animals with their help. I recommend giving Cruelty-Cutter a try! You'll be surprised with the results!

Why do I have to create an account to use this app? There is absolutely no reason for this app to need so much personal information. Scan a barcode and tell me yes or no whether it is tested on animals--nothing else needed. My personal information is NOT for sale.

Update NEEDED. Android app last updates 2017. I have emailed the developer. I know they're busy, especially with the recent news of Fauci approving of animal cruelty to Beagles (but hey, let's trust him, after all, it's not like he funded Gain of Function testing to create the CCP Virus to make money & decrease the global population!) Once this app is updated, will re-download & use it and update my star rating!
