By Youell Systems Ltd, from Google Play“Keep your group in touch onboard a cruise ship, without an internet package.”
Description by Youell Systems Ltd Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
CruiseLink passes messages between your group's phones using Bluetooth when you're near each other, the ship's own Wi-Fi when you're on it (no internet package needed), and the internet when anyone has a connection. You don't choose; it uses whatever works.
• Chat with your group
• Ping: one tap for "Where are you?", "Come to me", "Dinner soon"
• Meet: suggest a place and time, and see who's coming
• Check-ins: ask everyone to say they're OK
• Cabin numbers and the day's plan, shared with the group
• See who's nearby and when you last heard from each person
• Delivered and Seen, so you know a message arrived
No account, email or password. Create a group, share the invite link or QR code, and you're in.
Private by design: messages are end-to-end encrypted. Other passengers' phones can help carry your messages, but they can't read them — and yours can't read theirs.
How well it works depends on the ship: phones need to be within Bluetooth range of each other or of another CruiseLink phone, or on a Wi-Fi network that lets phones reach each other. CruiseLink tells you plainly which routes are working.
Recent changes:
Notifications now work on Android. Until this build CruiseLink could not wake your phone when a message arrived while the app was closed. Now it can.
And when a group's key changes, the new key now travels over the internet as well as phone to phone — so someone you haven't been near stays in the group instead of quietly dropping out.
