Description
The CS Customizer app allows users of Sound World Solutions' CS50/CS50+ Bluetooth Series personal sound amplifier, Companion, or Sidekick products to personalize their settings and control the device via Bluetooth link from their smartphone.
Under the "Personalize" tab of the app, an automated program will walk you through the steps in tailoring the performance of the listening device to your individual preferences. This tab also gives you the option to adjust the baseline setting of your listening device to one of three preset listening profiles, or to your personal profile
The "Settings" tab allows you to select two additional environmental settings designed to optimize the performance of the listening device in specific situations.
Restaurant Setting emphasizes the directional microphone to focus on sounds coming from in front of you and provide rejection of unwanted sounds in noisy environments. Entertainment Setting provides increased low frequency response for a more natural, balanced sound at musical or theatrical events.
The app also provides an "Equalizer" tab to adjust individual settings for treble, mid, and bass frequencies for a truly customized user experience. You can also adjust the volume, similar to the volume button on the listening device.
Finally, the "Tools" tab gives you the ability to change the language of the voice prompts in the CS50+, Companion, and Sidekick. You can also turn of the A2DP music setting if you do not use it and you don't care for the sound effects from the phone. You can also access the User Guide for the CS Customizer from the "Tools" tab.

I got the CS device today (4/7/21). Downloaded the app. My android phone says it is connected via Bluetooth. The device reports, via audio, that it is connected. I bring up the app. Its screen says to "tap on 'No Hearing Device' below and pick a device from the list". The tap (right or left ear) gets a popup saying "No hearing device". That's it. The app. Does nothing else. The phone and the device know they are connected. The phone streams an audiobook just fine to the device. When I turn off Bluetooth on the phone, the device (via audio) reports that the connection was lost. The CS device itself appears to function properly, it is just the app. That is failing. I have a Moto G Plus, running Android 8.1.0. *Update*(4/9/21). I got the app. To work on my Android phone. Here is what I did. I turned off Bluetooth. I turned on location (I'm not sure this had anything to do with it). I removed the battery from the CS50. I brought up the app. I turned on Bluetooth. I installed the battery on the CS50. I waited a bit, touched "Right Ear" in the app, and it found the CS50. I don't know if the order of these events were important. Now even with the battery out, and Bluetooth off, the app has remembered my device. Now I give the device and app. 5 stars, with an aside: "the app. Was hard to get working for me".

Mostly pretty good, worth the cost. Had trouble updating, but after uninstall & reinstall, it works fine again. Do personal hearing test for best results. Equalizer and other functions work well. One fully charged battery doesn't last full day -- dawn to night -- need 2 for that. One lasts 12–15 hours. Bluetooth connects to most devices. Still having trouble with PC, though; prefer earphones with microphone anyway. CS Customizer app is simple, but works fine on Android smartphone.

CS Customizer works perfectly on my Samsung SM-T210R tablet running Android 4.4.2...IF I close all apps or If I go to Settings/Application Manager/CS Customizer and Force stop. It will not run properly otherwise. It took quite a long time to figure this out. I use it with my Sound World hearing aids which work great for my moderately severe hearing loss. Apparently, Java needs to be installed on my Windows 10 desktop for that version of CS Customizer to work properly. It only does one hearing aid at a time in contrast to the Android version.

I own 2 pairs of the HD75 hearing aids. I swap out occasionally. This time the swapped set wouldn't pair with Bluetooth. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it doesn't work all. I noticed it is new version. Called CS CUSTOMIZATION. ???? What is this all about?

Device had been working ok as long as you don't have a lot of background noise, but now the app continues to crash, and I can't link the devise to my phone. I uninstalled the app and tried reinstalling, but now I get a message that the app was built for an older version of Android and may not work properly. No updates available. This message did not appear when I got the devise for Christmas, & I have the same Galaxy 9 Note. Too late to return now.

Unable to select either HD-100 on my Pixel 4 XL running Android 11. This app worked well in past on my prior android phones (Pixel 2XL, Nexus). Contacted Sound World Solutions, who seemed to be aware their app does not work with some android phones. Followup promised, but nothing. Update 6/18/24 CS Customizer 1.6.4 still does not work!!!
