Cut List Planner: KerfLedger

Plan sheet cuts, linear lengths and reusable offcuts in one offline workshop tool. KerfLedger turns stock and parts into cutting diagrams, purchasing quantities and steps at the saw. All planning features are free; an optional subscription only removes ads.

SHEET AND LINEAR CUTTING
• Plan rectangular sheet parts and length-only bar cuts.
• Enter names, sizes and quantities in millimetres or fractional inches.
• Account for blade kerf, edge trim, grain direction and allowed rotation.
• Match material and thickness to compatible stock.
• Choose quick or thorough search, aiming for less waste, lower entered stock cost or simpler cuts.
• Choose first cut direction and unrestricted, two-stage or three-stage cutting.
• Mark rectangular stock defects so parts avoid damaged areas.
• Handle large quantities with compact repeated patterns and no paid quantity limit. Device and complexity limits apply.
• See utilization, cutting order, remaining rectangles and shortages.

MATERIALS, COSTS AND TEMPLATES
• Maintain materials with thickness, stock sizes, grain and unit prices.
• Calculate purchasing quantities and stock totals, with missing prices flagged.
• Enter finished or cutting dimensions and individual edge-banding thicknesses; calculate banding length.
• Create simple shelves, open cabinets and closed boxes from dimension-based templates.

AT THE SAW
• Follow numbered diagrams, stock preparation guidance and a visual cut-by-cut guide showing which panel to use and where to cut.
• Mark cuts complete, undo and resume progress for each repeated stock copy.
• Adjust part coordinates and rotation with checks for overlap, kerf, grain, boundaries, defects and guillotine feasibility.
• Lock a whole plan against accidental recalculation.
• Work in focused Stock, Parts, Plan, Cut and Tools screens.

OFFCUT INVENTORY
• Save reusable offcuts with material, dimensions, quantity and location.
• Set minimum saved offcut dimensions and exclude damaged remnants.
• Track used stock and print portable QR inventory labels and part-row labels.
• Scan a label with the camera or a photo to identify a local item or confirm importing a portable offcut.

SHARE PROJECTS ENTIRELY OFFLINE
• Transfer stock, parts, settings and a current validated layout using a self-contained QR or numbered animated QR sequence.
• Scan frames in any order; the scanner counts parts and ignores duplicates.
• Import one or multiple QR images from your gallery.
• Save or share a .kerfproject file for larger projects.
• Preview before importing as a new copy. Existing projects stay unchanged; cutting starts fresh and imported stock is independent of inventory.
• No website, account or backend is needed for project transfers. Inventory does not automatically synchronize between devices.

IMPORT, EXPORT AND PROJECTS
• Import/export CSV cut lists, including material, thickness, cost, location and banding.
• Import/export supported millimetre rectangular SVG/DXF geometry.
• Export printable PDF plans, batch PDFs, labels and shareable plan images.
• Save, rename, duplicate and delete projects.
• Back up and restore projects, materials, inventory and cutting progress.

FREE PLANNING, LOCAL DATA
Calculations and workshop data stay on your device unless you export or share them. QR camera images are processed locally. No account is required.

Contains banner ads and occasional transition interstitials. An optional auto-renewing monthly subscription removes ads while active. See your local price in the app; manage or cancel through Google Play. Ads and purchases require internet access.

Layouts are feasible suggestions, not guaranteed optimal. Irregular nesting, CNC toolpaths and 3D models are not supported. Templates use simple butt joints, without doors, hardware or detailed joinery allowances. Costs exclude tax, labour and delivery. Verify measurements, blade allowances and cutting order before cutting.
