Edit: problem is fixed. Great app, docking 1 star since in-app purchases are on the pricey side. Physical books and digital books are often similar in price. I like the idea of the app but as it is now I would rather just have PDFs of the material. I bought a few books to prep an adventure but whenever my screen locks, or I have to use another app while I am in a book the dnd beyond screen goes black. To fix this I have to exit the book and reenter it.

Update: app is much more responsive and works pretty well. I used to have everything in one place, and it is nice to be able to share books with others. Fun app, when you can actually get it to start. Every time I start it I am staying at an "updating sources" message for 10 minutes before I can do anything in the app. How many times do I have to update in a freaking day?

The app refuses to download books to my SD card, *EVEN IF* "Save Books on External Storage" is enabled in Profile Settings, which is unacceptable, considering I've spent hundreds on this service.

While the layout and setup is fairly clean, it seems bazaar to me that you have to buy a full price digital copy of the PHB and all source books simply up create a character. As someone who already has copies of the books but simply wanted an easier digital way of creating and tracking my characters, this seems like a bizarre choice. I could understand needing them if you wanted to view the books for reference obviously, but requiring it for simply making a character sheet is ridiculous.
