THIS GAME IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED WITH FRIENDS IN PERSON. IF YOU ARE ALONE YOU CANNOT PLAY!
Dark Stories is an easy to play and fun game but some of the stories are quite difficult. All the stories are fictional. To solve them, the players will need to prove their skills as detectives.
HOW TO PLAY Dark Stories must be played in group. A person -chosen as narrator- picks a mystery and reads its description aloud. Then he/she reads its solution without telling the other people. The rest of the players then have to make questions in order to solve the mystery.
The narrator can only answer the questions using "Yes", "No" or "It is not relevant". The only possible solution is the one given at the back of each mystery card. If the answer is still not clear enough, the players must follow the narrator's interpretation of the mystery.
EXAMPLE A typical fragment of a gameplay could be:
Player1: "Did he die because of the shot?" Narrator:"No" Player2: "Was he poisoned?" Narrator: "No" Player3: "Did he have children?" Narrator: "It's not relevant" Player1: "Are there other people in the story?" Narrator: "No" Player2: "Did he commit suicide?" Narrator: "Yes" ...
END OF THE GAME When the narrator considers that the story has been solved enough, the narrator can conclude the game and read the whole solution.
It is up to the narrator to give some clues if the story is in a deadlock.

Definitely unique. If your friends are curious, chatty, and down for some silliness, this would be a great game to play with them. The UI is simple to grasp quickly. You get 3 free stories for every new combo you have to buy (so if you don't spend money to buy a new category you still have some free stories) However, I do agree that some stories were a little wack, which would be much better if the solution was written in a more logical way.

Really fun game to play with friends, I know this app from my teacher, he teaches public speaking, and it really teaches us how important our questions to get the right answer quickly! Love the memories!

Not fun to play at all as all the riddles are so far-fetched and illogical. For example : A man ate an apple, and then he jumped out of a window, but he survived. Solution : He actually didn't jump out because the apple reminded him of his childhood in Italy picking apples on his Grandparent's farm, and he decided to give them a call. Like seriously???

Bad translations in German, some stories make absolutely no sense. For example some double meaning (shot = with a camera or pistol) don't work the same in German. Only use in English. French ones are passable.

This game looks cool but makes no sense. There are a few questions, and you have to think of a solution, but the answers are too specific and make no sense. Like: Q: guy was happy, and then he killed someone, why? A: his neighbor was watering the plants and accidentally spilled some water on the first guy's new car. This game makes no sense >:(
