The Keyboard Designer is a complete keyboard that can be used in all apps. It gives you the freedom to customize them, design a new keyboard yourself or, after purchasing the extended design package, import pre-made keyboards. Not only can you change the colors, but you can also freely arrange the keys and assign functions to them.
This app does not request access to the network - therefore all data remains on your device!

A keyboard must match the following requirements:
1. No connection to the internet A keyboard is used to enter very private data like passwords. Due to this a keyboard must not request a connection to the internet. Only by this it is possible to ensure that no data can be send by the device! Also contacts or similar private data must not be accessed by the keyboard. This means: no permissions for the app!
2. Individual adjustments The keyboard is the most used app on a mobile device. Therefore ist must be perfectly adjustable to the needs of the user! The position of the keys, it dimensions, labels, colors and borders do define the look. By the assignment of a powerfull function the user can enter a text very fast. So with this app you can create the keyboard like you need it. This means: all options to you!
3. Easy usage As the screen size is very limited, entering a text is not easy. The present functions and their smart accessability allow the usage even in hard conditions (walk with mobile device in one hand and a coffee in the other) or for handicaped people. An edit bar shows the entered letters in a hughe way and allows to manipulate them directly. If it is not obvious which key was pressed, a resized view of the keyboard is shown with big keys. And if you ever want to do any changes on the keyboard, you can hit a key to open the designer and make it so!
4. Speed A keyboard must react on a keypress very fast - otherwise errors are the logical consequence. This app does not use the functions to implement a keyboard that are provided by the system, but it shows all keys in a graphic. If a key is touched, its assigned function is send to the editor. Its very fast due to this simplified structure.
After the installation some example designs are shown. They alread contain all necessary keys and can be used or modified (e.g. to add your own special characters like umlauts, glyphs, change duration of pressed keys or make big keys). It is also possible to make completely new designs.

Keyboard designer is the 2nd best customizable virtual keyboard on the market. You can change every aspect of existing presets, or create entirely new keyboards from scratch. The only other keyboard I'd say is equal, maybe even better; would be the unexpected keyboard with XML editing. But if you're not technologically inclined, and need a custom keyboard, keyboard designer would be the one for you.

It seems fine overall, but I think its lacking the feature im looking for. I'm trying to find a keyboard that can actively type color coded symbols. Not just have the keys be colored. Like if I were to type a 1, it would be yellow or in italics on a PDF.

I can't figure out these instructions. How the heck do I change what character I get when I press shift and then a key? I'm just trying to recreate the actual symbols on the number row, so I can type the at symbol by pressing shift + 2

I figured out how to move the enter key but beyond that learning curve for this app is ridiculous. Plus no text prediction option.

Horrible,! Here is the message I tried to write with the default keyboard design: "I'm surprised at, how differrntcthr keyboard, is,from gboard. Thr, defaukt nkeyds are, so tiny it is, impossible to type correctly. There is, no soellinh correction. Worst, of all, no swype key entry(excavation mork). I hate, this,app!!!" Also, the space bar can't be used to position the edit point (caret). I'm writing this with the Google keyboard, and it works so much better! Oh, and also the instructions are bad!!!
