Decibel Meter & Noise Recorder

Decibel Meter turns your phone into a sound meter, noise detector and noise recorder. Open it to see how loud your surroundings are in real time, record while you measure, and keep a log of every noise with its time, place and dB readings. No sign-up needed, and your data stays on your phone.

GREAT FOR
• Noisy neighbors, loud upstairs footsteps or renovation next door: find out how many decibels it really is and keep recordings as a record
• Bedroom or nursery noise at night: schedule a recording to capture the whole night
• Checking how quiet your office, classroom or study space is
• Traffic, construction, parties, bars, concerts and air-conditioner noise
• Knowing when noise is loud enough to put your hearing at risk

REAL-TIME DECIBEL METER
• A clear gauge shows the current sound level in dB with a plain-language noise level ("quiet", "normal conversation", "noisy" and more)
• Max, min and average for every session; the average is an energy average (Leq), the same method professional sound level meters use
• Overload warning when the sound is louder than the microphone can capture, so extreme noise is never under-reported
• Built-in noise level reference chart

RECORDINGS & HISTORY
• Every measurement is recorded and keeps running with the screen locked or the app in the background
• Each record keeps the time, address, duration and dB statistics
• Waveform preview, scrubbing and 10-second skip
• Export audio and add notes to keep evidence
• Recently Deleted keeps removed records for 30 days

SCHEDULED RECORDING
• Start after a countdown or at a set time, for the duration you choose
• Ideal for night-time noise or early-morning construction when you can't watch your phone

ANALYZE VIDEO & AUDIO FILES
• Measure the sound in videos from your gallery or local audio files and see loudness over time
• Digital level (dBFS) plus an estimated sound pressure level

NOISE WATERMARK CAMERA
• Stamp the current dB level, time and address onto photos to document noise on the spot

MICROPHONE CALIBRATION
• Phone microphones differ; fine-tune readings against a professional sound level meter or another device in More > Microphone Calibration

PRIVACY
• No account required. Recordings, history and photos are stored only on your device and never uploaded

Note: a phone microphone can only estimate sound pressure level. Results are for personal reference and do not replace a certified professional sound level meter.
