★★★★★ Overall good, but will not read my new Dutch residence permit using NFC. Makes a connection, but hangs at 12%. Same on 3 Android phones: same with Checked app. Reads my Dutch driver's license fine, problem is just the residence card.

★★☆☆☆ I don't want to be forced to use a government issued Digit app on my phone. I'm not mentally challenged and can use a password manager to have a strong password and can use TOTP as 2FA. If identity must be determined by NFC, create a reproducible open source app (F-Droid should be able to build it) that doesn't require internet access to generate a URL or code to prove possession of the document. Edit: no, often you cannot authenticate with login+password+sms anymore. "Safest" is debatable.

★★☆☆☆ This update is a missed opportunity. Still unable to scan my Dutch passport, whereas the Belgian Itsme app has no problem with it.
