Digital Orthodox Christian

Digital Orthodox Christian brings the daily life of the Orthodox Church to your phone: the readings appointed for today, the saint of the day, the calendar with its fasts and feasts, prayers, and the chant of the Church to learn and sing. Everything is in English and Georgian.

THE DAILY READINGS
Follow a year-long reading plan through the Psalms and Proverbs, the New Testament and the Old Testament, with an explanation for each day. Pick up where you left off, bookmark a verse, and choose the type size and typeface that suit your eyes. Every reading can be read aloud in a natural voice while the text follows along.

THE CHURCH CALENDAR
See at a glance which days are fasting days, which are feasts, and what the Church reads at the Liturgy: the Epistle and the Gospel for the day, with the commemorations. Open any day of the year.

THE SAINTS
Meet the saint of the day, read their life, and hear the hymns sung to them. Photograph an icon and the app tells you which saint it shows.

PRAYER
A prayer rule for morning and evening, and prayers for every occasion, ready when you are.

LEARN THE FAITH
Short lessons on the basics of the faith, the Creed article by article, and how to pray: what the words mean and where they come from.

HOLY SCRIPTURE
The whole Bible to read: in English from the Septuagint and the King James Version, and in Georgian, including the old Georgian manuscripts in the Nuskhuri and Asomtavruli scripts with a modern rendering beside them.

CHANT
Learn Georgian church chant and Byzantine chant in English from the published recordings: choose a voice part, listen phrase by phrase, follow the score, and sing along while the app listens and shows you how close you are to the notes.

ASK
A chat assistant that answers questions about Scripture and Orthodox Christian life from the readings themselves, with the verses it relied on.

The app works without an account. Sign in with Google to keep your bookmarks, progress and conversations on all your devices. No advertising, ever.
