I'm a former Threat Analyst and this is definitely closet spyware. It collects data and produces an output that is easily used for potentially malicious intent. Cambridge Analytica style intent that is easily man-in-middled by anyone with a packet sniffer and a high school skill level. That makes this a double threat.
