DK Pittsburgh Sports, the first independent sports media outlet of its kind in North America, was created in 2014 by Dejan Kovacevic, an award-winning columnist and veteran of 25 years with Pittsburgh's major newspapers. He's joined on our staff by Taylor Haase, Alex Stumpf, Chris Halicke, Danny Shirey, Cory Giger, Corey Crisan, Ramon Foster and Matt Williamson.
We cover the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Pitt football/basketball and Penn State football. That means every game, every practice, everywhere they go. We're fully credentialed by the NFL, NHL, Major League Baseball and NCAA.
Now, with this custom, state-of-the-art app, we're offering more quality and quantity than ever on a superior platform aimed at being a Pittsburgh sports fan's one-stop shop. Best place possible for Pittsburgh Penguins coverage! Dean actually sends reporters to every practice, pre-game skate and game. The exclusive coverage is well worth the money for ad free app. Also covers all the other Pittsburgh area sports teams, but all I care about is Penguins hockey! Way better site/app than that national site/app. Thanks Dean, Let's Go Pens!!!!!!

I am a big fan of DK and his team, but this app is awful. It's slow, a data hog, and constantly crashes. ****Update**** Still a fan of the content, the app is still awful in 2024. Now, however, they've added the fun of ads being so intrusive that you can't even scroll through the content.

This site has become increasingly more political and less about sports. A couple of their better writers are gone. If you decide to comment on an article that goes against the author's (Dick Copacetic) political narrative, your comment gets deleted. No longer a good site for Pittsburgh Sports. It's sad and pathetic. Don't waste your time or money on this garbage app. Trust me.

My app hasn't updated since March 2023 and no longer even loads. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, signed up for the beta, cleared the cache and data. Nothing worked. The product itself is great, but this app just doesn't work.
