Dog Breed Encyclopedia

Alyssa's Dog Breed Encyclopedia is a beautifully simple, offline-first guide to 208 AKC-recognized dog breeds. No account and no data collection — all breed data and images live right on your phone, so the app is fast, private, and needs no internet connection to use. The only time it reaches out is when you choose to tap an optional link (such as a "Read more on Wikipedia" button), which opens in your browser for extra, supplemental reading — everything the app itself does works completely offline.

Browse or search the complete breed library and open a rich profile for any dog. Each breed card includes a full-screen photo, quick stats (height, weight, life expectancy, and popularity ranking), temperament, coat and color details, energy and care ratings, family and other-pet compatibility, notes from the official breed standard, and a link to read more on Wikipedia.

Everything is connected. Tap any tag — group, size, origin, temperament, coat, or color — to instantly see every other breed that shares it, then sort the results by name, popularity, or intelligence ranking.

FIND THE RIGHT DOG FOR YOU — Take the Breed Match Quiz. Answer 11 quick questions about your home, lifestyle, and preferences, and the app scores all 208 breeds to suggest the ones that fit you best — each with a plain-language reason why. These are starting points, not a verdict: every dog is an individual, and the best companion might be a shelter dog no quiz could predict.

SAVE YOUR FAVORITES — Tap the heart on any breed to save it. Your favorites are stored on your device and gathered in one place, with a simple editor to manage them.

FOR DOG-SHOW FANS — Explore every Westminster Kennel Club Best in Show winner from 1907 to today (year, breed, and winning dog), with links back to each breed's profile and, where available, the dog's Wikipedia page.

MORE TO EXPLORE — Random Breed, full-screen photos with pinch-to-zoom, a built-in Guide & Tips page, a warm and readable design, and complete image credits built right in.

Perfect for prospective owners, dog lovers, trivia buffs, and anyone curious about the pup they just met at the park.
