I used a Garmin GPS for years of tracking and tested several dog tracking apps. I have settled on Dog Tracks as my favorite, especially for laying a track. It tracks total track length and individual leg lengths (if I mark the corners.) Beginning students find the app easy to use and useful. Dog Tracks continues running when I use camera and compass apps. All my tools are at my fingertips. I just downloaded version 3.0 and look forward to seeing its improvements.

Nice Easy to use. Nice way to journal your tracks easily. I look forward to the ability to post on facebook, would be nice to be able to email as well (like when tracking with others, so they can have their track).

Lost Old Track Info Purchased a year ago, and it worked well on my Samsung Stratosphere. Upgraded my phone and cannot import my old tracks. I added a new dog yesterday and two new tracks, and today the new dog is missing, and I can't open the tracks. Reinstalled the app and lost all new tracks saved to this phone. Very unhappy now. New phone is a Samsung Galaxy 5.

I really want to love this app and will continue to try, but we've used it 10 times now and have yet to get a correct complete map. Most are from human error and no fault of the ap but each time we do mark and start/stop appropriately the lines on the map are not accurate despite waiting for the green go ahead for the GPS signal. Using for beginning level, so maybe it is more accurate on full length tracks. Will give it a few more tries and update review If it changes anything.
