Really, really good. The etymologies and FULL meanings of characters are very well presented, and you can choose simplified and traditional Chinese to learn. You can select different study lists like HSK, TOEFL, Common words etc. and learn reading/writing separately. One small issue is that it shows some traditional characters that should be like HSK 2 as HSK 10+ (this only affects people learning traditional Chinese like me). Very kind developer as well! 🔥

I use this solely for the dictionary to supplement my learning of mandarin. It's amazing as it gives you the breakdown of every character and phrase.

It's similar to ClozeMaster but includes a lot more features, and it aggregates lots of Chinese audio/video content to supplement the vocab learning, which is unique. The dictionary is similar and sometimes better than the Outlier dictionary on Pleco. I wish the sentence audio was better than the standard TTS. I also wish I could turn of the AI Challenger sentences because they feel lower quality, especially for beginner levels. But totally worth it!

I open the app and it's just at the splash screen (yin yang logo) and never gets beyond it.

Good app, unfortunately it doesn't have a mute function, so if you're listening to something else while trying to use it, this will repeat the word you looked up every time you go to that page. It gets very annoying quickly. If they added a mute option, which isn't hard, this would be 5 stars. Please add it!

No writing support for traditional. Sadly it's a miss for me for that reason. I selected "traditional" and started the placement test. It was supposed to take 10 minutes but the reading portion alone took 30 because the algorithm is funny and won't finish the test until you give up and pick "I don't know" as opposed to guessing as you would in an exam. Then the kicker: the writing portion only handles simplified, so it didn't recognize my input. I wouldn't have wasted my time if I'd known.

Was good at the beginning, but now it keeps drowning me in mostly new words even if I turn it down to 0 in settings. The translations are not literal, so it's harder to learn. Generally, changing the settings is not doing anything. Not for new words frequency, nor audio speed, nor word list, or anything. The only thing I got to change is the traditional letters button. Now I can't use the app any more (even though I paid) - the audio delay is too long so I hear the sound in the wrong questions

You have to sign up with email etc. etc. before you get to try the app. If I'm forced to put in my credentials before trying the app, it's always a bad sign. NOPE!!! Uninstall
