Dots and Boxes: Brain Duel is the classic pen and paper game from school, rebuilt for your phone. Play the computer through eight worlds, solve a new puzzle every day, pass the phone around with up to 6 players, or play friends online. No ads, no in-app purchases.
HOW TO PLAY DOTS AND BOXES
Take turns drawing a line between two dots. Close the fourth side of a box to claim it and draw again. When every line is drawn, the player with the most boxes wins. Simple to learn, surprisingly deep to master.
EIGHT WORLDS TO EXPLORE
• Clover Meadow, Frostpeak Pass, Sunscorch Dunes, Coral Deep, Ember Peaks, Cloud Isles, Lantern City and Starfall Orbit.
• Every world has its own twist: hedge mazes, frozen lines, gold boxes worth 2, reef rocks, bomb boxes, giant boards, quick rush games and a meteor shower of everything.
• New board shapes in every world, from a diamond and a heart to twin islands and a rocket.
• A boss waits at the end of each world. Beat it to open the next one, then come back for harder laps.
PLAY AGAINST THE COMPUTER
• Five levels: Beginner, Casual, Skilled, Expert and Master, which calculates the endgame exactly.
• Watch your avatar hop along the map as you win, earn up to 3 stars on every level and chase your fastest wins.
EVERY DAY
• Daily puzzle: a fresh endgame each day, the same for everyone. Earn up to 3 stars and keep your streak.
• Today's stars: see how your stars compare with other players today.
LEARN TO WIN
• Chain School: twelve puzzles that teach chains, sacrifices and the double-cross.
• Hints show the best line and the boxes you can take.
2 PLAYER AND MULTIPLAYER
• Pass & Play: 2 to 6 players on one phone, offline. Pick the board size, the shape (square, plus, ring, hourglass, heart, diamond or window) and twists like gems and locked lines.
• Online: play a random opponent, create a private room and share its 6-letter code, invite friends or join a public room. Rooms take 2 to 6 players.
• Ranked games with ratings and leaderboards, rematches, quick messages and hearts to thank a good opponent.
• Every move is checked by the server, so nobody can cheat. Report or block anyone, any time.
