DRAGON QUEST VIII

★★★★★ Yes, the PS2 version is the better version. It has voice acting, a full orchestral score, and better controls. BUT this version is a fine way to play. The app is easy to use one-handed, I prefer the portrait view for mobile gaming, and I haven't run into a single bug in the 25+ hours I've already put into it. The controls are middling in towns and dungeons, but fine on the world map. If you have the ability to play on a PS2, go for it. If you don't, then you could do worse than this port.

★★★★★ The game itself is good, the mobile version is poor. Thankfully there's a mod for it that fixes many issues with controls and makes the game play at a smooth frame rate. Look up the "Dragon Quest VIII Mobile Remaster Patch".

★★☆☆☆ Not worth the $20. Frame rate is bad and graphics look terrible too. Bad android port overall.

★★☆☆☆ Was playing good now it won't even let me play, just closes instantly. I've tried re downloading, and it still does it. Pretty disappointed sense I paid for this game.

★★☆☆☆ Great port for when it was released, but nowadays the FPS cap is stupid and the controls could be better (have the option to play landscape) also there is no orchestrated music or voice acting, as it is a port of the original japanese PS2 game.
