I use the paid version. It works really great with OBS Studio on Linux. That's what I'm using it with predominantly. I have used the standalone client just to try it out. It works as well, but I use OBS Studio heavily, so there's no need for the standalone client, as far as I'm concerned. It works very, very well, excellent, in fact. Worth paying for, but free version is brilliant too.

wow works great if ur phone can't be used as a Webcam normally. Been using these guys since like 2016ish

No "reject all" button on the data preferences screen upon loading the app. This is a breach of UK law. Will be escalating this to the ICO. Also, £13.49 for the "pro" version to get rid of the silly watermark is incredibly steep if you think about it. You could easily get a reliable, good quality refurbished webcam for that price that is plug in and play and doesn't require a battery to run on like the phone does. Otherwise, a good app idea. Tried it with OBS on Windows 10 and worked okay.

I paid for DroidCamX, now the PC software is exactly the same but the pro version won't work for me anymore.
