Description by KatsuyaMaki Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
DroidOS Keyboard Picker helps you use another enabled Android keyboard — such as Gboard — on supported Samsung Galaxy Z Flip cover screens.
Samsung may switch cover-screen typing back to Samsung Keyboard even when another keyboard is enabled. Keyboard Picker gives you a simple manual switch from the app. Manual switching and setup guidance are included in the free core experience.
OPTIONAL AUTO RESTORE
Auto Restore is available as a one-time Google Play purchase with no subscription. When Automatic Restore is enabled, DroidOS Keyboard Picker can restore your chosen keyboard after Samsung changes it during a main-display-to-cover-screen transition.
• Automatic Restore is OFF by default
• Buying Auto Restore never turns it on automatically
• Includes advanced background reliability and recovery features
• Google Play can restore your purchase after reinstall
KEY FEATURES
• Choose a preferred enabled keyboard
• Manually switch the cover-screen keyboard from Home
• Guided Samsung and Shizuku setup checks
• Optional Automatic Restore for a more seamless cover-screen experience
• Advanced troubleshooting and support guidance
• Standard Android keyboard picker included
COMPATIBILITY
Designed for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and newer cover-screen models running One UI 8.5 or One UI 9.0. Current device validation covers Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Flip7 on One UI 8.5, and Galaxy Z Flip8 on One UI 9.0. Galaxy Z Flip5 is included in the One UI 8.5 support target but has not yet been directly device-tested by the project.
One UI 8.0-era firmware on tested Flip6 and Flip7 devices is not supported. Compatibility can vary with Samsung firmware and regional builds, and future Samsung updates may change cover-screen keyboard behavior.
For the most predictable switching behavior, enable Samsung Keyboard plus one alternate typing keyboard. Setups with several enabled keyboards may behave differently depending on firmware.
SHIZUKU ACCESS
Cover-screen switching requires Shizuku because Samsung does not expose the required switching behavior through normal Android app APIs.
DroidOS Keyboard Picker guides you through the required setup and never silently changes your Samsung keyboard preferences. Automatic Restore is optional and remains off until you explicitly enable it.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
DroidOS Keyboard Picker does not read, record, store, or transmit what you type.
There are no ads or analytics, no DroidOS account requirement, and no developer-operated server. Keyboard switching and settings stay on your device; Google Play is used for the optional Auto Restore purchase and ownership restoration.
If you've wanted Gboard or another favorite keyboard on your Galaxy Z Flip cover screen, DroidOS Keyboard Picker was built for exactly that.
