Could use all the modes instead of four. Having a diatonic dulcimer makes it boring in just the same four modes. ( CGC and others would be nice) make sure to not cross the research with a chromatic dulcimer! Chromatic dulcimers have a fret board just like a guitar. Not a diatonic dulcimer though. Works pretty well.
