Ear Trainer

You hear two notes: is the second higher or lower? You hear a leap: is it a fifth or a third? You hear a rhythm: can you tap it back? Ear Trainer teaches you to recognise what you hear, one-minute exercise at a time.

Every exercise follows the same loop: listen, answer (or tap the rhythm on screen), see why, and if you missed it, another one like it comes straight away. At the end of the session the things you stumbled on come back.

Three paths, five levels each:
• Pitch — higher or lower, same or different, down to a quarter of a semitone
• Intervals — from the fifth and the octave to all twelve intervals, ascending and descending
• Rhythm — quarter, half and eighth notes, rests, dots and syncopation; recognise the right notation and tap the rhythm back
• Statistics and 8 medals: sessions, accuracy, levels and streaks, with confetti at the end of each session

Learn, don't memorise. Every example is generated on the spot from musical rules, so you never hear the same few over and over. Your level only goes up on new examples you have never heard before — the improvement has to be real.

A plan that adapts. Every day there is a short session: it starts by reviewing what went wrong (spaced repetition), then moves on at your level. Your streak shows how regular you are.

Rhythm with real timing. Every phone has a small delay between sound and touch. A 10-second calibration, tapping along with clicks, measures that delay and takes it off; the timing windows are generous for beginners.
