ALERTS NEAR YOU
• Pick a radius (100 to 1,000 km, or 50 to 600 mi) and a minimum magnitude (M3.0 to M6.0)
• Use your approximate location or pick your city from the list
• Each alert shows magnitude, distance and direction from you, and where it happened
• Alerts are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time
MAJOR QUAKES WORLDWIDE
• Optional alert for big earthquakes anywhere in the world (M6.0+, M6.5+ or M7.0+)
EVERY QUAKE, IN ONE LIST
• Today or this week, newest first or nearest first
• Magnitude filters (all, M2.5+, M4.5+, M6+) that really filter: the count updates as you tap
• Small local quakes near you are included, not only the big ones
MAP
• See recent earthquakes on a world map or around your area, colored by magnitude
• Works fast, with no map account or sign-in
DETAILS FOR EACH EARTHQUAKE
• Magnitude, depth, local time, and distance from you

• One tap to the full USGS event page

• Light and dark themes
• Available in 12 languages
WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM
Earthquake data comes from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) public earthquake feeds (earthquake.usgs.gov), which cover the whole world. Alerts are sent within about a minute of an event appearing in the USGS feed. Map outlines come from Natural Earth.
PLEASE NOTE
This app is not an official warning service and is not affiliated with the USGS or any government agency. It reports earthquakes after they happen; it is not an early warning system and cannot predict earthquakes. For emergencies and tsunami warnings, always follow your local authorities and official warning services.
