Easy Taximeter - Fare Check

Easy Taximeter helps taxi passengers gauge what a ride should cost. It measures distance and time with GPS and shows an estimated fare based on the area's official fare table — handy in an unfamiliar city, to see that the fare rises the way it should.

■ How it works
· The first time, pick a fare table: country → area → vehicle. The country you are in is shown first as "You are here"
· Start — the estimate begins at the flag fall and steps up with distance and time, just like a physical meter
· Stop — you get an itemized breakdown (flag fall, distance fare, time fare, rounding and each extra on its own line) with the total, saved to History

■ Official fare tables for more than 50 countries and regions
· Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East & Africa and Oceania — Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney and more
· Only meter fares published by the regulator (or, where fares are deregulated, the published meter fares of a major operator). No haggled, flat-rate, zone or ride-hailing app prices

■ The real fare rules
· Night and time-of-day surcharges switch on automatically at the times in the fare table, shown as a chip at the top
· Where a fare table has an out-of-area surcharge, it applies to the part of the trip outside the service area. You can switch it off by tapping the chip
· Extras in the fare table (booking, luggage, airport…) are counted with [−] [+]; tolls are added each time you pay one
· If the GPS signal dropped during the trip, the breakdown tells you

■ Keeps counting in your pocket
From Start to Stop the estimate keeps counting with the screen off or the phone in your pocket. A silent "Trip in progress" notification shows the estimate and distance meanwhile. Background location permission is not used.

■ Fare table updates
When fares change, we publish new tables on our website. The app checks every 30 days (or when you tap "Update fares"), verifies the signature and downloads only the files that changed. The internet is used only for this.

■ Easy to read
· The biggest number is the estimate so far, with distance, time and speed below
· History: each trip on one line — date, fare table, distance, time and estimate; tap it to see the breakdown again, with this month's total on top
· Screen colors: Auto (by time of day) / Day / Night mode
· The layout adapts to landscape and to half-and-half split screen
· The screen stays on while you watch the meter

■ Your location stays on your phone
· Location never leaves your device. Area detection and fare calculation all happen on the phone
· Trip history does not store your route (coordinates)
· No sign-up, no login
· On first launch the app explains how it uses location before asking for permission. Precise location is needed to calculate a fare

■ Please note
· Easy Taximeter is a fare estimator for passengers. It is not a certified taximeter. Do not use it to charge fares. The actual fare is what the vehicle's meter shows
· Fare tables are transcribed from official notices and may have changed since they were last checked
· GPS errors or weak signal (tunnels, underground roads) can make the amount differ from the vehicle's meter

■ Ride safely
· Do not show the screen to the driver to argue during the trip. If you think the fare is wrong, use the vehicle's meter and the local complaint channels
· When you put the phone in your pocket, turn the screen off with the power button. The estimate keeps counting

Works on Android 10 and later. Devices without a GPS receiver cannot calculate a fare.
