Description
Your all-in-one app for the Annular and Total Solar Eclipse of 2023 and 2024!

Eclipse Explorer is a free astronomical app that allows you to view the circumstances for solar eclipses that occur between 1900 and 2100 using your GPS defined location. It uniquely features countdown timers to eclipse events at your specific location, simulates the position of the Sun and Moon, and draws the location of the Moon's shadow on the Earth in real-time. You may also lookup circumstances for locations around the world.
A solar eclipse is one of nature's most amazing spectacles, however, clouds can ruin your day. Use this app to overlay satellite and radar data on the day of the eclipse to make sure you stay within the path of totality and away from the clouds!
Find out exactly when the eclipse starts and finishes for your location with countdown timers.
Be ready for the total eclipse in April of 2024!

Great tools, interface a little clunky This has the most detailed map of totality I've been able to find. The animation is great as well. My main goal was to find eclipse duration for a given location, which you can do by switching the map to "manual" mode and entering a city (took me a minute to figure out).

This was a wonderful app to be using on the day of the 2017 eclipse. Unlike a couple of other apps I tried, this one worked flawlessly in an area with no cell/wireless coverage (completely offline). That was critically important. The display of times is very clear and straightforward. The mapping of the eclipse shadow was fascinating. Having an easy ability to use manual positioning was excellent for being able to foresee what might happen, depending on where we ended up. Thanks for a superb piece of work that helped make my eclipse day great!

Very slow and not usable An eclipse map is good, but not usable within this app. It keeps on locking to your current gps location. Not what you want. No time indication on the map. How can you prepare for your eclipse viewing location if you only have the info once you're there. We need the info upfront, which this app does not provide... sorry, but this is not usable.
