You can turn it off. Ha. no but really, I have mine set to only appear on notification and when charging. Can confirm it works flawlessly with Square Home launcher & Notify (cut-out options app) all with live wallpaper goin on. No issues and this us Not a high-end phone. Plus I've set it to almost pixel-thickness as larger looks tacky IMO. Have 1 setup wuth only two colors (from my wallpaper) very slow pattern the other a bit faster different directions. It all works perfectly.
