Description by egmontr(from Google Play)
EgiGeoZone is an Android Geofencing app which uses different sensors in your phone or tablet to determine your location and then to 'trigger' different actions when entering or leaving predefined zones that you can choose. It can trigger many actions directly, or simply display a notification on screen to do so. In other words, the app works in a similar way to apps like Tasker, which allows certain events to initiate an action on your smartphone or even a remote server.
* New for developers: Now you can develop your own plugins for EgiGeoZone * * See: http://www.egigeozone.de/developer/default_en.html *
Note: To configure server connections and to send e-mails in the background a some special knowledge is necessary! Before leaving a bad review, please inquire for advice in the forum.
The following actions can be triggered when entering or leaving a zone: - Contact a geofencing service, such as the Geofancy module from FHEM, to control home automation devices, or call your own URLs when entering or leaving a zone. - Send emails - Other actions: Call 'Tasker' tasks Switch Wi-Fi on or off when entering/leaving (Works only with Android smaller or equal Version 9) Switch Sound on or off when entering/leaving Switch Bluetooth on or off when entering/leaving (Works only with Android smaller or equal Version 11) - Live Tracking
Possible applications: - Open or close your garage door, turn on the heating or turn it down, switch lights on/off, etc. EgiGeoZone can interface with most home automation servers - Co-ordinate your car share. For example, if the driver leaves work, another person can be be automatically notified via email, allowing them to get to the meeting place on time. - When leaving the 'Home' Zone, Bluetooth turns on enabling your phone to pair with the hands-free in your car. When you get back home, it turns Bluetooth off again, saving on your battery. - Upon reaching work, you can have EgiGeoZone switch the sound off, and and then on again when leaving. - Presence and absence check on servers. - There are many more uses - our users are finding new uses for EgiGeoZone every day.
Recent changes: Version 3.3.5: - Repaired email - Reorganized permissions

Tried over a dozen geofencing apps which all had issues, then tried this one, and it beats all the rest. More accurate, more reliable and easy to use. Great support and documentation, with an online forum monitored by the developers who are very responsive to suggestions for improvement. We use it to track over 50 geo-fences in classic car navigation rallies, and it just works. Highly recommended app.

Awesome app. Missing one star tho. Easy to use. Only app I have found that does a GET to http to post data. Very useful with event ghost and the web server Plugin for EG (event ghost for windows) very simple to get it communicating for home automation. Missing one star because I seem to have 2 problems. One is when it updates via webpages. Using the variables for the Fence Name it will send the same fence name for other fences. Problem 2. I set a 1000 ft and 2500 ft fence, and it will pop me outside them quite often. When I haven't even moved

Was looking for an app to help keep track of a family member with early stage dementia. This app provides notifications to alert us when the phone enters or leaves home, or any other areas we set. Gives us peace of mind. Easy to set up, and a powerful tool. The dev pointed me to the app website where variables were listed. Those let me customize the messages, entering or leaving zones, along with other information which may be useful.

Doesn't work on note 4. Doesn't enable Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on entering the zone.

doesn't work on my android ... error: tasker not found!
★★☆☆☆James Dill· Jan 16, 2018
Should not require / demand all permissions it asks for in order to use.
★☆☆☆☆Megan Greenwald-Yarnell· Jan 4, 2019
Does not work reliably. I waste data because my Wi-Fi does not reliably turn back on when I get home.
