Elan Player: Video & Subtitles

Watch videos from your phone or NAS with Elan Player. Play MKV and MP4 files, show two subtitle languages together, and save subtitle timing for each video.

Video and subtitle tools
• Play MKV, MP4, AVI, TS, FLV, WMV and other supported files
• Open SRT, ASS/SSA, VTT and SMI/SAMI subtitles
• Adjust subtitle size, position and timing; remember settings per video
• Generate subtitles from speech in local videos and translate on your device in supported languages
• Burn subtitles into a new MP4 while keeping the original video

Find and continue watching
• Browse folders, search, create playlists and resume recent videos
• Control speed, repeat a section, use picture-in-picture and playback gestures
• Browse music and play audio in the background

Play from your network
• Open SMB, FTP, HTTP and RTSP streams and saved server profiles
• Reconnect or retry when network playback is interrupted

Playback and quality depend on the file's codec, device performance and network. Speech and translation models need an initial download, and automatic results may contain errors.

- Fixed FTP videos stopping at 00:00.
- Network playback reconnects automatically after a drop, and the error dialog offers Retry.
- Streams show the file name instead of the server address, and live streams are labelled Live.
