Very basic problems. Nothing complicated or difficult here. Great for beginners who want to practice recognizing similar patterns in many different ways. To find examples of this level, many problems were taken from blunders in games of younger players. This Chess King product does not include any theory, only practice exercises. It is a well-made product. Good value for the cost, if you're a beginner.

This app is superb. I would use an introductory text like Bain's Chess Tactics For students or YouTube explanations on basic tactics. When I bought this app, I was 1100 online. Now I'm 1500 online. At first glance, I thought it was no use to me/ too easy because it was arranged in basic patterns in order (for example pawn forks then bishop forks then knight forks then rook forks etc.). But when i selected randomized order hardest 1000 positions, it really tested me and filled the knowledge gaps

It's called "elementary" but anyone under 1400 FIDE or 1600 online rating will greatly improve with this set. For lower rated players like myself, I get to practice quick pattern recognition initially by doing it in chapters (for instance pawn forks only, bishop pins only) At higher levels by randomizing, it can test your tactical vision. There is a huge difference in "spot the discovered check vs White to play and win". I will come back to this set many times for the next 2 years
