Description
The all NEW Enviroute comes with improved features which will let you know if either the M48 Severn bridge status or the M4 Prince Of Wales bridge is closed or open in either direction. This new version comes with improved push notifications, a more effective API (backed up with physical and LIVE monitoring of the bridges in person!), additional info on lane closures, and traffic in either direction. Here is some info on the Severn Crossings and just why this app is NEEDED for the people of Chepstow! Enviroute (Original) has been running for nearly 18 months now completely free of charge, and has over 200 5-Star ratings and reviews. This NEW improved, paid version will help create more technology projects for the people of Chepstow and the surrounding areas. More features are on their way for Enviroute, and we'll be adding surrounding roads / routes such as the M49 along with routes into Bristol, the M5, and more. If you don't know about the original problems commuters have experienced with the Severn crossings, read on for some background... The Severn bridges based between England and wales are major connections for the M4 and M48 motorways. Traditionally both crossings / bridges have been owned and operated by private companies.
“Is the bridge open” and Enviroute have created an app that allows local residents and commuters to check the status of both bridges in order to plan their routes more effectively. From time to time the bridges are closed due to maintenance and/or adverse weather conditions and, since the ownership of the Severn bridges has changed there has been a lack of reliable communications around the status of the M48 Severn bridge and the M4 Severn Bridge.
“Is the bridge open” is here to help with this and to provide information on when either of the Severn Bridges are closed or partially closed. Severn bridge updates at the touch of a button instead of endless maps, websites or twitter accounts. Find out instantly is the Severn Bridge is open and get updates sent directly to your device (Enviroute NEW now has this feature!) before you set off on your journey. By paying for Enviroute NEW you are indirectly funding this local area for more exciting tech based projects. We want to make life easier for residents of the surrounding areas, help local businesses sell more, save your local high-streets plus many more projects in the pipeline. These will be funded by the money earned by Enviroute NEW Thank you and I hope you enjoy the new version.

★★★★★
Has never let me down, a and quick easy way to check if bridges are open. When occasionally it's wrong, ie says Bridge closed when it's open-the highways' agency the app depends on is also wrong!
★★★★★
Very useful tool to help me plan travel times. If the A48 bridge is closed I need to allow an extra 30 mins to journey time in order to divert to POW bridge. This app helps me plan for closures.
★★★★★
Simple and easy to use. Has planned works warning in good time. Is more accurate (time wise) than the severn bridges Twitter account. Now features push notifications. You can let them know if you have problems, and they will sort it out. Bear in mind it's one or two people developing this app, not a multi-billion tech giants. So be kind people!
★★☆☆☆
I've had this app on my phone for a couple of years now. The updates on bridge closures are regularly inaccurate and take hours to update so can't really be relied on as being accurate. The 'coming soon' features have been coming for over 2 years! It seems like the developers of this app have given up on it!
★★☆☆☆
This app sees no improvement on the previous free version, 'coming soon' apparently means geologically speaking. The information is still inaccurate and slow to update There is still no push notifications You're still better off using the official twitter or website which are free. Save your money.
★★☆☆☆
Doesn't always update quock enough, again today coming from Bristol signs saying closed between 1&2 use M4 but nothing on the app
