Epicentro: Earthquakes Now

The bed shakes. In a few seconds you want three answers: where was it, how strong was it, how far is it from me? And right after, a fourth: are the people I care about OK?

Epicentro answers straight away, in plain language, with the source next to every number. No jargon, no ads: just what you need to understand what happened.

WHAT YOU GET
• Every quake explained in a few lines: what happened, how strong it was, how far away and what to expect
• P and S waves on the map and, if you are close, an estimated countdown for your location (an estimate, not an official alert)
• Estimated intensity where you are, in color from I to XII, and the seismic zone of your municipality (Italy)
• How reliable the data is (INGV, EMSC and USGS compared), the fault type in plain words and how today compares with the area's usual activity
• List, map and charts for the last 24 hours and 7 days: in Italy and near you, wherever you are
• Sources always shown: INGV, USGS, EMSC and national services. Data can be delayed or revised

ALERTS FOR YOUR AREA ONLY
• Notifications for earthquakes near home: you choose the minimum magnitude and the radius
• Up to 2 areas free, with high priority for the strongest quakes
• Follow a seismic sequence and get updates
• “I felt it”: report the quake you felt, anonymously

FOR THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE (WITH PLUS)
• Ask your circle “are you OK?” and answer in one tap from the notification: “I'm OK” or “I need help”
• After a strong quake near you, Epicentro offers a ready-written request: you confirm it, it never sends by itself
• Invite family and friends with a link and call them from the app

ALWAYS WITHIN REACH
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets: latest quake, nearby events and the 24-hour count
• Wear OS app and tile
• Share a quake as a story-format image

ARE YOU PREPARED?
• Emergency mode that works without a connection: what to do after a quake
• Offline map around home: download it once and keep it without a connection
• Assembly areas and nearby hospitals (OpenStreetMap data)
• A preparedness path and a diary of the quakes you felt

EPICENTRO NETWORK (OPTIONAL, EXPERIMENTAL)
• If you want, your phone, still and charging, can detect the first seismic waves and send an anonymous signal. No audio, no photos, location to about 1 km. It starts off and you can turn it off any time. Today it sends no alerts

EPICENTRO PLUS (OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION)
• Aftershock probabilities for every event (statistical estimate) and seismic sequence analysis
• Family, unlimited areas, worldwide earthquakes and up to 1 year of history
• PDF reports for building management and insurance, data export, custom alert rules
• Scenario simulator, quiet hours, Plus widgets with a live map
• An account is only needed for Plus: the app is free to use without one
