A finalidade deste jogo é fazer o maior número de vazas e escopas, a fim de se obter primeiro o número de pontos convencionados.
A vaza se faz ao se atingir 15 pontos, por meio de uma combinação entre uma (apenas uma) carta da mão e uma ou várias cartas da mesa. Quando o jogador consegue somar os 15 pontos, recolhe todas as cartas utilizadas para a obtenção da vaza e coloca-as ao seu lado, viradas para baixo.
A escopa se faz quando a carta descartada, somada a todas as cartas da mesa, forma 15 pontos. Sempre que se obtém uma escopa, vira-se uma de suas cartas para cima, a fim de que, ao final, se possa identificar o número de escopas realizadas durante o jogo.
