If you already have a paper subscription to Essence this app doesn't provide enhanced content. It's an alternate subscription where electronic issues can be paid for, through the app, on a month-to-month or yearly basis. Unlike other apps of this type that are available through Google Play this one actually works. There's a small discount for subscribing electronically versus receiving paper copies.

I paid for a subscription paper prescription that came with free digital through 2027. I have not been able to access the digital magazines unless I pay for them. I have reached out to customer service on multiple occasions to no avail. Very frustrating.

I have a one-year subscription to essence magazine. I downloaded the app and was able to see the first magazine from my subscription. The second magazine came to my home, and I also got the notification that it was available in the app, but when I click on the magazine, it comes up with options to purchase the magazine, a 6 mos subscription or a 12 mos subscription. It will not allow me to view the digital copy. It only allows me to see the very first magazine in my subscription. FIX IT PLEASE!!
