Classify any region A, B or C on the published EVP convention, type what you hear, and it is saved with the audio. Findings are searchable across every session. Export a session report, a clip with your processing applied or untouched, or a 9:16 video for sharing.

NOT A SPIRIT BOX
Every other app in this corner of the store generates sound — sweeping radio, phoneme banks, random word lists. EVP Bench generates nothing. It records what is actually in the room and hands you the tools to examine it.

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO
EVP Bench does not detect voices. It will never highlight, flag or suggest anything in a recording — that would be the app making a claim, and the app makes none. What listeners hear in noise is auditory pareidolia, the same mechanism that finds faces in clouds. Slowing audio down and looping it make that effect stronger, not weaker. EVP Bench is a microscope; what you conclude is yours.

PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
Recordings are written to your device and stay there. No account, no cloud, no sync, no analytics, no ads. The app makes no network requests at all — nothing leaves it unless you share it yourself.

Recent changes:
If the bench has been useful, it will now ask — once, and only after you have classified three findings — whether you would rate it. Also moves to the React Native release that fixes a known memory regression in the JavaScript engine.
