Explorer: Dungeon Maze

The torch is low, the dungeon is dark, and somewhere on this floor a portal is waiting. Explorer is a quick, tense maze puzzle: find the way out before your steps run out.

Every step counts
• Each level is a fresh maze hidden in fog; only the squares around your knight are lit
• The portal glows from the start, but the way to it is yours to find
• You have a set number of steps: take the short way for three stars
• Run out and try again, or take five extra steps to finish the job

Watch the demons
• Four demons roam every floor, and they get in your way
• Ten kinds, each with its own moves: Dashers rush up to two squares at once, Leapers jump over walls, Sleepers wake when you come close, Guards keep watch by the portal
• Each kind has its own pixel-art look and badge, and its next move is marked, so you can slip past
• Meet a new kind and its card shows it moving, with a tip to beat it
• Blast them away with a Bomb when they block the only path

Ten abilities, three slots
• Pick a loadout of three abilities to take down each depth
• Bomb: clears the walls and demons around you
• Reveal: shows the whole map
• Lantern: aim it and light up a spot 4 squares away
• Go deeper to unlock more: Barricade blocks a square next to you (Depth 2), Dash moves two squares for one step (Depth 3), Freeze makes demons skip their next 2 steps (Depth 4), Compass points the next 3 squares toward the portal (Depth 5), Decoy lures chasing demons (Depth 7), Rewind undoes your last move (Depth 9) and Lullaby puts nearby demons to sleep (Depth 10)
• The loadout picker shows which demons each ability counters best
• Find Bomb, Reveal and Lantern pick-ups and coin chests on the board and keep what you carry out

Keep your streak alive
• Win levels in a row to build your streak, with coins and Streak Freezes at 5, 10, 25 and 50 wins
• A Streak Freeze saves your streak when you lose, and there is a free one to claim every day

Coins and the Store
• Earn coins from chests, from your stars and from streak milestones
• Spend them in the Store on Streak Freezes and charges for your abilities, and see how many coins you still need

Delve deeper and deeper
• Five levels make a depth; finish one and the next depth opens
• Every depth has its own colours, down to the fog, and new depths bring new kinds of demon
• The mazes grow bigger and twistier the further down you go, and the view follows your knight
• Follow your journey on the level path, with the stars you earned on every level

Made for a minute at a time
• Levels take about a minute, perfect for a quick break
• Simple four-way controls on a thumb pad, with sound, haptics and a reduce motion setting
• A neon dungeon of raised stone blocks, with a pixel-art knight and demons

Good to know
• Your progress is saved on your device and backed up online; signed in to Play Games, it comes back on a new device
• Free to play with ads: a small banner during play, an occasional ad between restarts, and optional videos for extra steps, skill charges, double coins or saving your streak
• Coins are only earned in play: no in-app purchases
