বাংলাদেশ বৈচিত্র্য ও সাম্যের দেশ। আমাদের জাতি 160 মিলিয়নেরও বেশি লোকের একটি বহু-ধর্মীয়, বহু-জাতিগত এবং বহু-ভাষী জাতি। সকল নাগরিক অবাধে ও শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে নিজ নিজ ধর্ম পালন করে, বাংলাদেশের সংবিধান দ্বারা নিশ্চিত অধিকার। ধর্ম বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় সকল ধর্মীয় গোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতি প্রতিষ্ঠায় নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। 28/03/2017 তারিখে অনুষ্ঠিত ECNEC সভায় ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রস্তাবিত "মসজিদ ভিত্তিক শিশু ও গণশিক্ষা কার্যক্রম-৬ষ্ঠ পর্যায়" কর্মসূচির ১ম সংশোধিত প্রস্তাবের অনুমোদনে নিম্নোক্ত নির্দেশনা প্রদান করা হয়:
"দেশে ইসলামের নামে জঙ্গিবাদ ও সন্ত্রাসবাদের উত্থানের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের সচেতনতা বাড়াতে হবে। ধর্ম বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় ও ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন প্রয়োজনীয় উদ্যোগ নেবে"।
এ নির্দেশনা অনুসরণ করে ধর্ম মন্ত্রণালয়ের কার্যক্রম প্রচারের জন্য একটি প্রকল্প গ্রহণের নির্দেশনা দিয়েছে ধর্ম বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়কে সংসদীয় স্থায়ী কমিটি। এর পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে ‘এনহ্যান্সিং রিলিজিয়াস হারমোনি অ্যান্ড অ্যাওয়ারনেস প্রজেক্ট-ইআরএইচএপি’ গৃহীত হয়েছে।
