This is not a government app and Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) is not a government entity. This app presents information from Titles 14 and 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 and 49 CFR) published in the Federal Registers and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars, Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) and policy documents published on the FAA website. ASA curates, formats and presents this public domain information available from https://www.faa.gov/ that is pertinent to pilots, flight instructors, flight crew, and aviation mechanics.

ASA has built a reputation for providing the aviation community with the most accurate and reliable FAR/AIM products available. The FAR/AIM app continues this tradition, containing information from Titles 14 and 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 and 49 CFR) pertinent to pilots, flight instructors, flight crew, and aviation mechanics, combined with the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Pilot/Controller Glossary. The app is great I really like, a must-have for a professional pilot. I saw that is missing the pilot/controller glossary, the NASA report general form, and the index. The index makes it easier to locate specific information (even easier than the search bar because sometimes you don't know the specific terms).

This is so much better than using a paper FAR/AIM. Especially when running a quick search for something specific. I do wish you could highlight Part and Subpart Titles rather than just the words contained within those parts.

My one complaint is the search function is quite limited but this is better than carrying around a book that gets outdated quickly.

Doesn't have up-to-date information The app states it checks for updates of information daily. AIM 7-1-6 is what made me notice this. The chapter updated in the FAA register in April of this year, this app still hasn't updated as of this review.

Great concept, needs development Good start, ASA, love your stuff generally (I've purchased several test prep apps) but this one is missing some real basic stuff: 1) Can't swipe left/right (i.e. "turn" pages) through sections, must bounce back and forth through TOC continually. 2) Can mark/highlight text, but cannot "Copy"!?! (E.g. to do an internet search or add to external notes.) Looking forward to the future enhancements...

I like the layout and the hyperlinks. Unfortunately the rarity of the highlight function actually working makes this app unusable for study and check ride prep.
