Description
FDBeacon puts critical building intelligence in the hands of first responders at the exact moment they need it — on scene, at the building, in seconds.
Developed for the fire service by fire service professionals, FDBeacon delivers pre-incident plans via NFC tags affixed to structures. A single tap of your phone to an FDBeacon tag loads the complete building profile instantly — no searching, no login delays, no fumbling through paper plans.
How It Works FDBeacon NFC tags are installed on buildings by your fire department. When you arrive on scene, simply hold your phone near the tag. The app opens automatically and displays the full pre-incident plan for that building in under 3 seconds.
If tag access is not possible — working fire, access restrictions, or any other reason — use the built-in building search to pull up any structure in your department's database by name.
What You Get on Every Building • Hazards — Special hazards, structural concerns, NFPA 704 data, collapse risk, solar panels, and battery storage systems • Tactical — Exposure information, staging areas, command post locations, aerial access, and attack strategies • Access — Primary and secondary entry points, Knox box location, gate codes, and after-hours access • Utilities — Gas, electric, water, and other utility shutoff locations with special instructions • Fire Protection Systems — Sprinkler systems, FDC location, standpipe, fire pump, alarm panel, and suppression systems • Water Supply — Nearest hydrant location, flow data, static and residual pressure, and secondary water sources • Contacts — Building owner, property manager, emergency contacts, and on-call personnel with tap-to-call • Full Plan — Complete pre-incident plan with all building details in one view • Overview — Occupancy type, construction type, stories, square footage, and year built
Built for Emergency Operations FDBeacon is designed to work the way firefighters work. The app stays logged in permanently — no credentials required on scene. Pre-incident data is maintained by your department and updated in real time through the FDBeacon Admin Portal.
Organizational Security All building data is scoped to your fire department. Firefighters see only the buildings their department has entered. Data is encrypted in transit and stored securely on enterprise-grade infrastructure.
