Okay, this is the file manager you're looking for. Simple, complete, reliable. Beats the Total Commander by simplicity of operation and clean UI. I came close to rating it 5 stars. But, BEWARE: "Usage & diagnostics" active by default, hidden in the "About" section (and they know that no one ever opens the "About" section.) Sneaky, very sneaky 🙂

Thank you!! You're everything Files by Google isn't 👍 Can you add in marking favorite photos? I still have to use Files by Google to mark them, then switch back to File Manager for everything else. Would rather not use Files by Google ever again. Otherwise, top-notch app!

When I move a photo from say location 1 to 2 then there is a confirmation (self disappearing) pop-up at the bottom which assures that the task is done. But if I miss seeing that pop-up then I don't know whether it was done. In other words there is no permanent notification that can be manually dismissed.

Downloaded so I can access disc on key, it asks for access to it, so it recognizes its connected but I can't find where to transfer files from and to it

The app has decreased in efficiency even further. It used to load the contents of my folders almost instantly barring ones that had an exorbitant number of files. Now it takes It's sweet time loading the contents of pretty much any folder. That's not even the worst part. It will take forever to just display a single image file when opened regardless of file size. When it finally lets me see it if I leave the folder I have to wait again. This issue still persists and is getting worse.
