Filen - Cloud Storage

★★★★★ Excellent Cloud Storage Service at very good prices with solid encryption. I have purchased their Lifetime Plan, and so far, no problems faced.

★★★★★ Good and secure cloud storage app. Easy to use, like the album selection option for automatic Camera upload. Also testing the Windows app, which is great. There are 3 things missing in the Android app, hope these will be introduced soon: 1. No. of files info in folder 2. Option to mirror albums (i.e. when I delete images/videos on my phone, these should also get deleted in Filen automatically) 3. Folder sync with config options, e.g. scheduled sync, mirror, one-way, when charging etc. Thank you.

★★★★★ It's been a pleasure to test FILEN over Linux with native. AppImage support and android apk, the only downside I've noted is that I can't access my cloud files on any app, i.e. saving my KeePass on Filen avoids me opening it up on the app (when I select Filen on file picker it just shows one file which says please authenticate, although I've already done that, obviously. Looking forward from an answer of devs :), keep up the good work ok E2EE cloud providers!

★★☆☆☆ Camera upload sync is slow and unreliable. Most recent update removed all of my upload settings and turned off my biometric authentication. Why have an update kill fingerprint login by turning it off??? Another issue is that you cannot unselect all folders for upload. Must select or unselect each individual folder which is beyond tedious. These problems make it a poor service for reliably backing up your files. Disappointed with the service and wish I did not purchase lifetime storage.

★★☆☆☆ Offline feature does not work as expected. Marked .txt file for offline use, went offline, cannot edit or open file. With Dropbox if a file is marked as offline, it can still be opened without internet connectivity. Filen also has no way of automatically syncing changes in text files back up, need to manually select file to upload. Not useful for on-the-go access to files, especially for business travelers. Will stick to Dropbox.
