Who is Hezarfen?

Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi, a Muslim Turkish scholar; He came to the world in 1609 and lived in Ottoman lands. The fact that he was a person who tried to fly by wearing wings and worked a lot on this subject made him important. It was named as Hezarfen because of its scientific knowledge and flying experiences. That is why the name Hezarfen, which means "knows too much", is given to it. Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi, who was enlightened by İsmail Cevheri, one of the Turkish scholars who lived in the 10th century; he tried to test his first flight experiences by examining and learning Cevheri's researches, findings and findings. By conducting flight experiments in Okmeydanı in Istanbul; He tried to see the degree of endurance on the wings.

In 1632, Hezarfen Ahmed was known; While the lodos were blowing with a vehicle formed in the form of an artificial bird, he jumped from the Galata Tower, leaving himself in the void. In this way, it is stated that by crossing 3358 meters, crossing the Bosphorus and descending to the place of Doğancı people in Üsküdar. With this flight experience, he made history as the first person to succeed in Turkish aviation history.
