Metal detector is a free app which detect the presence of metal by measuring electromagnetic field value. This work with device built-in magnetic sensor or magnetometer. The sensor allow you to detect objects generating magnetic fields, the greater the value of magnetic fields the stronger will be the metal. When any metal object like steel or iron is near, EMF reading will increase with a beef sound and vibration. Magnetic fields are generate by electronic devices such as phones, wiretaps, wires, sharp objects, metal screws, coins etc.

Metal detector app allow you to detect metal because all metals generate magnetic field which strength can be measured by using EMF Meter or EMF Detector. The magnetic field level (EMF) value in nature is 49 microteslas (μT) or 490 milli-gauss (mg) and 1 μT = 10 mg.
The hand held metal detecting app will detect metal by moving the device near to metal because due to increase of magnetic field value (EMF).

1. Can EMF detector accurately find all metals?
The accuracy totally depend on your device magnetic sensor (magnetometer), the accuracy varies from device to device magnetometer.

2. What does if my device doesn’t support magnetic sensor or magnetometer?
If your device doesn’t support magnetic sensor or magnetometer then you cannot use the metal detector app.

3. Can I use EMF Meter as gold detector or detect silver or copper coins?
No you cannot use EMF detector or EMF Meter (metal finder) as a gold detector or detect silver and copper coins because these are classified as non-ferrous metal that has no magnetic field. So the metal finder work well only on metal and not on a non-ferrous metal.



Precautions:
- Not every smartphone has magnetic sensor. If your device does not support magnetic sensor then EMF detector or metal detecting app will not work on your device and we are sorry for this inconvenience.
- Accuracy totally depend on your device built-in magnetic sensor.
- Metal detecting app will not work with non-ferrous metal like gold, silver and aluminum etc, as they have no magnetic field.
- Radio waves like laptop, computer, TV, radio signal can effect magnetic sensor. While running metal detecting or EMF detector then avoid all these places.
- If your phone sensor does not detect any metal accurately then in this case developer is not responsible for this.
