LEARN THE MOUNTAIN IN 24 LESSONS
New to fortress games? Start with Chronicles of the Seven: 24 short lessons on small hand-made maps, one to three minutes each, in five tiers: basics, economy, defense, fluids and stone, and reading the mountain. Glowing outlines show where to give each order, a checklist ticks off as you go, every lesson ends with one rule to remember, and a failed lesson simply starts again. The last one lets you drown a young wyrm with the very trick the full game hides in its clues. The ten-minute fortress stays the ranked game.

A WHOLE WORLD IN TEN MINUTES
Every world is generated with its own history: fallen fortresses, named beasts, goblin hordes and the traders of the Salt Road. One season lasts a minute. At minute one you face your first hard choice, and there are no good options, only prices.

DWARVES ARE PEOPLE
Each dwarf has a two-part name, an age, a trait and a flaw, loved materials, foods and drinks, skills that grow with use, friends, grudges, spouses and kin. They remember what happened to them and it colours their mood. Tap any dwarf to read their thoughts: "was horrified to see a friend die", "admired a fine marble wall". Stress builds into tantrums, grudges into brawls, and a dwarf seized by a strange mood may claim a workshop, demand strange materials and make a named artifact... or go mad if denied.

A LIVING FORTRESS
Designate digging with a finger, mark stockpiles, dormitories, farm plots and meeting halls, place workshops, doors, floodgates, supports and levers. Dwarves act on their own through a job system with priorities you control. Water flows and rises under pressure, magma turns water to obsidian, roofs wider than seven tiles cave in. Combat is told blow by blow, with wounds that matter.

THE WAKING
After ten minutes something from the region's history wakes beneath the mountain. It cannot be stopped by force. Its weakness is never named: it is hidden in ancient engravings, traders' tales, dreams and the behaviour of cave creatures. Flood it, pour magma on it, bring a roof down on it, pay tribute, hold your breath in silence or make a terrible sacrifice. Every second you survive after the waking counts, to the hundredth.
