Fossil Canyon: Learn Dinosaurs

Fossil Canyon is a painted desert canyon full of buried bones, and your child is its newest fossil hunter. Pip, a baby dinosaur who hatches on the first day, digs alongside them and grows a little with every dig site they finish.

Eight dig sites travel through deep time, from the very first dinosaurs of the Triassic to the last day of the Cretaceous: Famous Dinosaurs, Triassic Dawn, Jurassic Giants, Jurassic Hunters and Plated Dinosaurs, the Early Cretaceous, Horns, Frills and Armor, Hunters and Duckbills, and the Sky and Sea Reptiles. At every stop your child brushes the rock away to find a fossil, meets the animal on its fact card (what its name means, when and where it lived, what it ate, how big it was, what to look for, and one fun fact), puts its skeleton back together, and then plays with what they learned: sort plant eaters from meat eaters, size each animal up against a school bus or a house cat, place it on the timeline, and answer questions. Each dig site ends with a field journal, a five-page story read aloud.

REAL SCIENCE, TAUGHT BEFORE IT IS ASKED
- 80 animals, each drawn to its true proportions, with its skeleton
- 514 facts and 40 big ideas: deep time, Pangaea, how fossils form, feathers, nests, and what happened on the last day
- Every question is about something your child has already heard: the game always teaches first, then asks
- Honest science: where scientists are not sure, the game says so, and the flying and swimming reptiles are never called dinosaurs

A REAL NARRATOR, EVERY WORD
- Every word on the screen is read aloud in a warm, natural voice, so children who are still learning to read can play on their own
- A girl or a boy narrator, matching the explorer your child picks

FOSSIL CAMP: SEVEN MORE GAMES
- Timeline Trek, Fossil Lab, Dinosaur or Not, Who Ate What, Dino Families and six true Fossil Hunter Stories (Mary Anning, Sue the T. rex and more)
- A new Daily Dig every day, with a streak to keep

LEARNS WITH YOUR CHILD
- A spaced-practice engine tracks every animal and fact, brings back the shaky ones and moves on from the strong ones
- The Practice dig builds a lesson from exactly what your child needs
- A wrong answer is never punished: the question simply comes back later

LOTS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
- Stars, a sticker for every stop, medals, field patches on the explorer's sash and a trophy shelf
- The Museum Hall: 80 frames that come to life in color as each animal is learned well
- A girl or boy explorer in five skin tones, so every child can pick the one that looks like them, and six outfit colors
- Up to three explorers on one device, each with their own progress

FOR GROWN-UPS
- A grown-ups area (behind a multiplication question) shows what each child knows, animal by animal, and what is worth practicing next
- Narrator, music and sound volume, and a reset for each explorer

SAFE FOR CHILDREN
- No ads, ever. No accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no links out
- No data is collected: progress and an optional first name stay on this device only
- Works fully offline
