Free Food Cost

Free Food Cost is the free food costing app for restaurants, cafés, caterers, food trucks and bakeries — the mobile companion to FreeFoodCost (freefoodcost.com). Cost every recipe, price every menu item and keep ingredient prices current from your supplier invoices, all from your phone. No subscription, no trial, no ads.

🧾 Scan Invoices, Skip the Typing
Snap a photo of any delivery invoice and Free Food Cost reads the line items for you. Approve the price changes and your ingredient costs update everywhere — no spreadsheets, no manual entry.

📊 Food Cost Calculator for Every Dish
See live food cost percentage and profit margin on every menu item. Recipes cost themselves down to the gram, with a green-to-red margin check so you catch the dishes that are quietly losing money.

🍽️ Recipe Costing That Stays Current
Build recipes and sub-recipes once. When a case price changes, every recipe and plate cost that uses it changes with it. Scale a batch up or down and the cost follows.

📦 Inventory, Counts and Waste
Walk the walk-in with your phone: inventory walks, single counts and waste logging, with dollar values so you know what shrink really costs.

🔄 Your Whole Kitchen, In Sync
Ingredients, recipes, menu items and prices stay in sync between the web app and your phone. Works offline on the line and syncs when you're back.

Built for the kitchen:
• Scan supplier invoices with your camera
• Live ingredient prices from every invoice
• Recipe cost calculator accurate to the gram
• Food cost % and profit margin on every plate
• Menu pricing checked against your target food cost
• Inventory walks, counts and waste tracking
• Sign in with Google or email

Free Food Cost is free. Create your account in the app or at freefoodcost.com and start costing recipes in minutes.

Recent changes:
Freecost is now Free Food Cost. Same app, same account, new name.

Invoice review, reworked: lines come in three groups — New, Check and Linked — and every item you link is remembered for next time. Fix a wrong match with Change match, and mark fees as "not an ingredient" once.

Case sizes are read straight from the invoice (48 CT, 50#) and shown as a price per unit. We only ask when the invoice does not say.
