Description by Cermitech, spol. s r.o. Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Fruit Pomology is an offline pomology identification key and tasting workbench for anyone who owns fruit trees they cannot name and juice they cannot describe. Allotment growers with inherited old apple, pear and plum trees. Small cider and juice makers. Community-orchard volunteers. Nursery staff fielding "what is this one?". Tasting-club hosts. There is no account, no sign-in and no network connection — the library and your notes stay on your device.
IDENTIFY BY WHAT YOU CAN SEE
Instead of scrolling endless photo galleries, answer the descriptors actually in front of you: size, ground colour, over-colour and its pattern, shape, stem cavity, russet, lenticels, flesh colour, flavour class, ripening season. Up to eleven observations narrow a bundled library of 320 varieties in real time.
• Live candidate ticker that updates with every answer
• Confidence percentage for the shortlist, plus a per-candidate fit breakdown showing which of your observations agree with a variety and which contradict it
• Biggest-splitter advisor: scores every remaining descriptor by how strongly it divides the candidates and surfaces the highest information-gain question first
• Back-step, "why this question?" explanations and one-tap key reset
• Full pomology descriptor card per variety — fruit shape, skin ground and over-colour, cavity depth, russet, lenticels, flesh, flavour class, ripening season, flowering group, culinary use, old and local synonyms, and a hand-drawn botanical line-art plate
• Compare Bench: place two to four varieties side by side in a descriptor-by-descriptor diff table with mismatching rows highlighted — built for untangling synonyms and near-twins
DESCRIBE WHAT YOU TASTE
A structured vocabulary of around 90 defined aroma and flavour terms, organised in a nested wheel with plain-language definitions and notes on where each character comes from. Tap terms to assemble a profile instead of reaching for "fruity" again.
• Guided tasting capture: an ordered sample runner with a palate-reset timer, flavour-tag picker and intensity sliders
• Voice notes recorded against the exact sample you just scored, so commentary stays attached to the right glass
• Juice batch bench: register a press batch with the varieties in the mix, kilograms in, litres out, yield percentage, Brix and pH, then attach a photo of the tree or carboy and play back its tasting note
• Batches link back to the varieties you identified at the tree
PLAN THE SEASON
A season board draws bloom and harvest windows per variety as a phenology strip, with climate-adjusted expectations and clash flags when several varieties peak in the same week.
YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR DATA
Searchable variety library with filters. CSV and PDF export shared straight into other apps. In-app Privacy Policy and Terms text, a plain-language data-deletion statement, and one-tap "delete all my data".
A NOTE ON WHAT THIS IS
Fruit Pomology is a field reference and tasting notebook, not a plant-care reminder, growth diary or social feed. It does not diagnose disease and does not identify plants from a photograph — it narrows named cultivars of apple, pear and plum from observable fruit characters and helps you describe them consistently.
Offline by design. Your orchard notes never leave your device unless you export them.

Fixed an important bug in the journal and the bench. The entry you were editing, and the bench step you were on, stay in place when you leave and come back. The index and history open that same record again instead of jumping to the start.
