The 'FT8 Decoder' app enables an Android phone to decode FT8 traffic by listening to externally provided audio - typically from a SSB or SDR receiver. FT8 is a digital ham radio mode with its origin in the WSJT-X software. FT8 is currently the most popular amateur communications mode on HF ("shortwave")! After installing the app, click on the 'Help' icon for usage instructions.
Getting the time correct on your phone is CRITICAL. Without correct time on your phone, the app will NOT be able to decode FT8 traffic.

Works perfectly! I'm using iRig 2 (analog guitar interface) to get the sound from my HF receiver to my phone mic input, and I have already received FT8 on all HF bands. Works also fine with just the phone microphone, but requires me to be quiet which is hard. 73

This app could be improved by implementing a method of pulling in audio from a physical patch cable directly connecting the audio output of a radio like an ATS-909X directly to the mic input of a phone, to eliminate acoustic noise and signal distortion that comes with holding a headphone up to the mic of a phone. I do not have a "USB sound card", and I should not have to use grid power, because requiring grid power would cost me access to HF radio signals.

Worked the first couple of times, but now won't decode. I Uninstaller it out of frustration! How about a refund?
