GF Scanner: Gluten Free Food

GF Scanner is a gluten free scanner for packaged food. Scan a barcode or photograph the ingredient label, and the app flags gluten ingredients, "may contain" warnings and hidden sources such as malt, barley and rye, then shows a clear verdict with its reasons.

Made for people with celiac disease, gluten intolerance or a gluten free diet, it gives you a quick gluten check in the grocery aisle before a product goes in your cart.

Barcode scanner for gluten free shopping
• Scan EAN and UPC barcodes with your camera
• Product data comes from Open Food Facts, the open food database
• Ingredients, allergen data, traces and label claims are checked together
• If the sources disagree, you see a "conflicting data" warning
• Not every product is in Open Food Facts; the result is an assessment of label and database data, not a lab test

Ingredient label scanner
• Photograph the ingredient list with your camera or pick a photo from your gallery
• The text is read on your phone and matched against a list of 63 risky or doubtful ingredients
• Grain names are recognised in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch
• Product missing from the database, or listed without ingredients? Scan the label instead

Five possible results, with the reasons shown
Every scan ends with one of these results: Gluten-Free, No Gluten Detected, Contains Gluten, Trace Risk or Inconclusive. Each one lists the ingredients and evidence behind it, so you can see how the gluten checker reached its answer.

Hidden gluten, explained
• Spots wheat in its many forms, such as spelt, durum, semolina and farro
• Flags barley and malt ingredients, for example malt extract, malt syrup, malt vinegar and malt flavoring
• Catches less obvious sources like soy sauce, seitan, bulgur, couscous, brewer's yeast and miso
• Marks oats as a caution item
• The searchable Gluten Guide explains each ingredient, its risk level and gluten free alternatives

For celiac disease and gluten sensitivity
Pick the Celiac Strict profile, where any trace means avoid, or the Gluten-Intolerant profile, where traces are flagged and you decide. The gluten free scanner keeps your scan history on your phone, with search, stats and sharing, so it also works as a gluten free food checker for family members who cook for you.

AI label reading (Pro)
Photograph an ingredient label in any language. AI reads it, lists the ingredients it found and explains its reasoning with a confidence level.

How it works
1. Point the barcode scanner at the package, or photograph the ingredient label
2. GF Scanner checks the ingredients, allergen data and traces
3. Read the verdict and the reasons behind it
4. Verify the physical label before you buy

Plans
Without a subscription you get one scan in total (barcode or label), the Gluten Guide and your five most recent scans. GF Scanner Pro adds unlimited barcode and label scans, AI label readings and your full history in the gluten free scanner. Pro is a weekly or yearly subscription that renews automatically unless you cancel in Google Play at least 24 hours before renewal.

IMPORTANT
GF Scanner is a double-checking aid, not medical advice, and no scan is a guarantee. Ingredient data can be incomplete or out of date. Always verify the physical product label — especially if you have celiac disease — and contact the manufacturer when in doubt.

Recent changes:
Label scans are now more careful: when no gluten ingredients are found in the label text, the result reads "No Gluten Detected" rather than "Gluten-Free". A scan is a double-check aid, so always verify the label on the pack.
