GifWidget lets you use Giphy to find gifs, and you can also use any other gif with GifWidget: just save a gif you want to use to your device and you’re all set.
We’ve optimized the app to use as little resources as possible, but you should always use the lowest suitable quality as the animation requires much more memory when a higher quality is used. Quality guide: – Low: best for 1x1 widgets – Medium: best for 2x2 widgets – High: best for 4x4 widgets – Source: original quality, no matter how huge. Not recommended!
Please note that long animations require a lot of memory! If the animation keeps stopping or it fails to load at all, it might be too big for your device to handle. You can restart a stopped animation by tapping on the widget.
Worried about the battery life? The animation will be suspended while the screen is off, so the impact on the battery is much less than you might think.

Well, I did use the lite version for about 2 years now. It had no issue running that one GIF that I always loved. So, because there was more, I decided to buy the full version to have 6 more other gifs on my home screen. Although, it's really hitting up my RAM, it is amazing! There isn't any other GIF widget better than this, and I'm glad I purchased the full version when I could!

Great app for customizing your home screen with cool animations. I tried the free version, and it worked flawlessly after turning app optimization off. Bought the Pro version and it seems bugged. Tried uninstalling both versions, reinstalled just the Pro version but gifs keep stopping after a few seconds even when optimization is off and the message telling you to turn off optimization remains (free version that message disappears when you turn off optimization). 5 stars if this can be fixed.

Having too many widgets lag out the interface or app screen, so it becomes almost impossible to add any more widgets. If you do add more widgets than it just constantly crashes and then reloads the apps gifs. Around 30 widgets is the limit before they crash and start reloading. If the limit is ever increased then I would gladly give 5 stars. Just let me know when this app gets updated! A feature I would add would be if the app would let you choose which gifs to load first.

It's frozen every time & I bought the pro version for multiple gifs. Yes it has been optimized & still freezes for just 1 GIF. Waste of money.

Gifs instantly stop working. They either freeze or glitch rapidly between two frames. The in-app link to removing background restrictions doesn't work; the app cannot be found in any list.

Doesn't work on my Samsung S10. Gifs are glitchy and don't survive my phone turning off or restarting. The free version allows you one GIF at a time. The pro version will let you watch as many as you want. Both aren't worth it.

The GIF widget do not work on S23 ultra and Nothing CMF phone 1. It works for a while and the GIF stops after some time freezing. This is despite turning off the app background usage setting.
