GilaLink: Offline Messenger

GilaLink is an offline Bluetooth messenger for Android. Stay connected with nearby family, friends and neighbors when mobile coverage is unavailable, without relying on Wi-Fi, mobile data or an active cellular service plan.

MESSAGE NEARBY PEOPLE
Use Bluetooth to exchange messages with other participating Android phones. Both people need GilaLink installed and Bluetooth enabled. Set up your contacts and test together before you need offline messaging.

PREPARE TOGETHER
• Send private messages to your contacts.
• Compare contact safety codes together.
• Share quick safety check-ins.
• Send an SOS message to reachable app participants.
• Use the public Town channel for local updates.
• Use the app in English or Spanish.

BUILT IN GILA BEND, ARIZONA
GilaLink began with a local need: another way for neighbors to communicate when coverage is unavailable. Nearby participating phones can use it in other places too. It can help a family or group prepare another way to keep in touch when they are close together.

HOW TO GET STARTED
1. Install GilaLink on the Android phones you want to connect.
2. Enable Bluetooth and the permissions requested for nearby communication.
3. Add your contacts, compare safety codes and send a test message nearby.

KNOW THE LIMITS
Bluetooth range and delivery depend on your phones, surroundings, background settings and reachable participants. Installing the app does not create an existing town-wide network. Messages and SOS alerts are not guaranteed to arrive.

GilaLink does not provide internet access, send carrier SMS, contact emergency dispatch or replace 911. If you can call 911 in an emergency, call 911. Downloading and updating the app requires internet access.
