Glowatt: Charging Animation

Glowatt turns your charging screen into a live show. Plug in and a glowing ring fills with your charge, the battery percentage counts up with two decimals, and the power going into your battery shows in watts, the same unit chargers are sold in.

OPENS WHEN YOU PLUG IN
Turn on Open when I plug in and Glowatt appears by itself every time you connect a charger, even on the lock screen, then closes when you unplug. It stays off until you choose it.

TEST YOUR CHARGER AND CABLE
See the real watts going into your battery, live. Try another charger or cable and compare in seconds. The ring changes colour with charging speed, from amber Slow to teal Normal, green Fast and pink Super fast, so you can tell at a glance.

BEAT YOUR RECORD
Glowatt remembers your fastest charge ever and celebrates when you beat it. Unplug and a charge summary shows how much you charged, how long it took, the energy and the peak watts, ready to share with friends.

WHAT YOU SEE
• Battery percentage with two decimals, moving as the charge moves
• Charging power in watts, and the watts your phone uses when unplugged
• A ring that fills with your charge, with particles flowing in from the charging port
• A burst of light the moment you plug in
• Voltage, current, battery temperature and a time to full estimate

BATTERY DETAILS
Swipe up for a full readout: battery condition, charge cycles (Android 14 and later), the capacity Glowatt measures from the charge counter, charger type, the fastest power this charge, time since restart, and this charge's energy, peak and average watts with a live graph. Anything your phone does not share is marked Not supported, with an info button that explains why. Never guessed.

NIGHTSTAND CLOCK AND OLED BLACK
Show a clock above the ring and keep the screen on while you charge on your desk or nightstand. OLED black switches to white on black with most pixels fully off.

MAKE IT YOURS
Settings for screen on, OLED black, the clock, speed colours, the charge summary and record celebrations. A Quick Settings tile opens Glowatt in one tap. Available in 12 languages.

WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM
The decimals come from your battery's own charge counter, read through Android, and never run ahead of the percentage in your status bar. The watts are the power going into the battery itself, which is a little less than your charger delivers, because the phone uses some of it while the screen is on.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No permissions, unless you turn on Open when I plug in, which asks to display over other apps
• No internet access, so nothing can leave your phone
• Nothing runs in the background, unless you turn that on
• No account, no ads, no analytics

Glowatt shows your charge. It does not change how your phone charges.

Recent changes:
• Glowatt can open by itself when you plug in, even on the lock screen, in a minimal OLED look.
• New settings design, with clock styles and the battery temperature in the ring
• Add Glowatt to Quick Settings
• Fixed a wrong watts reading that could appear right after plugging in near full
